Softball: Cats 3rd at Merry Jo Tavernier Tournament

Wildcat Softball went 2-1 today at the Merry Jo Tavernier Memorial Tournament at Armstrong Park and finished third place: GAME 1: Three Rivers 20, Pennfield 0 (F/3) The Cats scored 10 times in the first two frames for the win. Three Cats had two hits: Dani Glass (2B, 3 RBI), Gia Newburry (3B. 2 RBI), and Elizabeth Oestrike. Adding a hit each were Ashlynn Barnes (2 RBI), Madison Carr (2 RBI), and Samantha Roggelien (2 RBI). GAME 2: Portage Central 3, Three Rivers 2 The Cats fell behind 3-0 early and fell by one to the Mustangs. London Hoffmaster had two hits, Emmy Quake, Dani Glass (2 RBI), and Mia Thomas each added a hit. Quake started and pitched seven innings, allowed two hits, and struck out nine. GAME 3: Three Rivers 8, BC Lakeview 3 The Cats scored three times in the fifth and four times in the seventh for the win in the 3rd place game. Dani Glass (2 2B, 2 RBI) and London Hoffmaster (2 2B, 3 RBI) each had three hits. Elizabeth Oestrike had two hits, Gia Newburry (RBI), Autumn Schroeder (2B), and Ashlynn Barnes (2B, RBI) each had a hit. Newburry pitched seven innings, allowed six hits, and struck out 10.
